Many martial arts focus on techniques designed for sport or controlled settings, where the aim is to score points without causing harm.
In real-world situations, the priority is very different.
The focus is on recognising danger early, responding decisively, and getting yourself to safety using simple, effective actions.
This course is built around what works outside the training environment — not inside a competition.

Training begins with a 10-week self defence foundations course, designed to give you a solid base in awareness, confidence, and practical skills.
The full course is £200.
At the end of the 10 weeks, those who have completed the course will have the opportunity to continue training through weekly classes, which are invitation only.
Ongoing training is offered on a monthly basis at £50 per month.
This structure ensures that everyone in the weekly classes has a shared foundation, creating a better learning environment for everyone involved.

This course is designed for everyday people — not fighters or athletes.
Most participants are complete beginners who want to feel more confident, aware, and capable in real-world situations.
You don’t need to be fit, experienced, or “tough” to take part — just willing to learn.

Absolutely.
Everything is taught step by step in a supportive, controlled environment. There’s no pressure to perform, and no one is expected to “keep up”.
The focus is on building confidence at your own pace.

I’ve been training in Krav Maga for over four years and have spent a significant part of that time assisting in teaching, working closely with students to build both confidence and practical ability.
I completed my instructor training through Krav Maga Israel and have trained under Ron Engelman, a highly respected instructor within the system, known for his focus on real-world application and effective, pressure-tested techniques.
Through both training and teaching, I’ve seen first-hand what works — and what doesn’t — which shapes how this course is delivered.
The focus is on clear, practical instruction in a safe and supportive environment, helping people develop skills they can rely on if they ever need them.
Beyond this I am ex-military, a qualified Personal Trainer, with experience in teaching large classes and have previous experience in Chinese Boxing

This is a 10-week structured course rather than a typical drop-in class, with each session lasting 1.5 hours — longer than most standard sessions.
The additional time allows for more coaching, more practice, and a deeper understanding of each technique, rather than rushing through material.
The course is designed to be suitable for all fitness levels, with the focus on learning practical, real-world skills at your own pace.
Because each week builds on the last, you’ll develop real confidence and capability over time — not just try something once and forget it.
The aim is to provide a high-quality, small-group experience where you get personal attention and leave with skills you can actually use.
